It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril Whitehorn announce his passing on Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond & loving memories are his 11 children: James (Marie), Pasadena; Alex Whitehorn, Charles (Donna), Corner Brook; Stella (Bill Stone), Hamilton, ON; Audrey (Warrick Payne), Cox’s Cove; Cora (Wendell Butt), Stephenville Crossing; Douglas (Laura), Corner Brook; Robert (Barbara), Pasadena; Gideon, Summerside; Lloyd, Summerside; and Dale Woodman (Sam), Corner Brook; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; stepsister, Carol Delaney and stepbrother, Charles Dyke; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Annie, 2002; brothers: Ronald (Alice) and Clarence; and sister, Mary. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street, with Majors Raymond and Laura Janes officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
