It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Michael Blue age 53 of Amherst announce his passing on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late James and Jean (Bell) Blue.
David loved baseball and was a pitcher for the Mixers team in Amherst. He enjoyed elderly people and worked for a few years at Victoria Manor, Amherst.
David worked as a security guard for the School for the Deaf and Enheat in Amherst.
He had a love for life and no matter what illnesses he had to face he never let it get him down or discouraged. David had an excellent attitude and fought many courageous battles until God called him home.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters Patricia (Perry) Haynes of Amherst, with whom he lived all his life and Barbara (Larry) LeBlanc of Ontario; brother Bobby (Mary) Blue of Ontario, two nephews Derek Haynes and James Blue and one niece Elaine (Jason) Truchan, his aunt, Margaret Bell and his very best friend who has always been there for him, Joey O’Dell.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his uncle Gordon Bell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS. (902-667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Memorial donations in David’s memory may be made to the VON or the charity of your choice.
