It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alphonsus (Phon) Hall announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: his wife, Veronica; children: Dale (Leonard) Young, Barbara (Joseph) King, Deborah Harris, Alphonsus (Barbara) Hall, Diane Hall (Eugene Meade), Lorraine (Thomas) Canning, Malcolm (Shirley) Hall, Lisa (Robert) Butt, Martha Hall (Marshall Young), Ashley (Tina) Hall; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Theresa Dunn, Mabel Boland; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard & Mabel Hall (nee: Lees); daughter, Veronica; son, Marty; granddaughters: Gerardetta, Samantha; brothers: Bernard, Angus, Thomas, Malcolm; sisters: Clara and Alice. To respect and honor Alphonsus’ wishes, a private family visitation will take place. Cremation will take place at Humber Valley Crematorium following the visitation. The funeral mass will take place on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Parish, St. George’s, with Father Edmund Camacho officiating. Following the funeral mass, a private burial service will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Shallop Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
