SMITH, HELEN IOWA - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of the late Helen I. Smith who passed away at home on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Helen was born Everett, Mass March 9th, 1928 to the late Percy and Ida M. (Powers) Geldart. Helen was a devoted mother and friend. She worked in Housekeeping for many years and retired from the Colonial Inn. She is survived by her children Gerald of Sussex, Ralph (Linda) of Mississauga, ON, Geraldine Suley (Norman Boucher) of Clarendon, Dianna Rose Graham (Daniel) of Digby, NS and Kenneth (Jane) of Acamac; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; step-brothers Leonard (Thelma) and Dennis (Willa) both of Moncton; one step-sister Colleen Ayles (Merle) of Riverview; step-mother Doris; nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Donald Smith; son Darin Lloyd; brother Calvin; step-brother Paul; three granddaughters Kimberley Lynn Courtney, Cathy Dawn and Krystal Dawn and son-in-law Bill Suley.
By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Ext.
