BURTT, EUGENE IRVING - It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene I. Burtt of Fredericton, NB announce his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, March 3, 2014. Born in Fredericton, NB he was the son of the late Elwood and Estella (Jones) Burtt and husband of 67 years to Dorothy “Jackie” (Jackson) Burtt. Eugene was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force serving in WWII and after the war began his career with the Canadian National Railway. Eugene will be sadly missed by his wife, Dorothy “Jackie”; his sister-in-law, Eva Hull (Leslie) of Fredericton, NB; his nephew, Ronald Stevenson of Fredericton, NB; his niece, Allyson Crosby of Moncton, NB and other nephews and nieces. Eugene was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Arthur and Verdun and sisters, Glenith, Erma and Verna.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Greg Geldart will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
