Date de décès : 5 mars 2014
We regret to announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Lloyd MacLean, 80, on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Florence on April 22, 1933, he was the loving son of the late Norman and Louise (Childs) MacLean.
He left home at an early age to settle in Scarborough, Ontario, working in the automotive industry with Goodyear Tire. He enjoyed travelling with his late wife Doreen. You could always find him either on a golf course or in a fishing boat. In recent years, you would find him spending time with his friends at the local mall, sharing his chocolate bars and candy. He was well-known by many as the candy man. He enjoyed spending time with his brother-in-law Gary at Tim Hortons, over a cup of coffee.
Lloyd is survived by his brother, Gordon (Millie) MacLean, his sister, Alta (Gary) Nicholson and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Doreen, brother Lorne MacLean, sister-in-law Margie, and special nephew and fishing buddy, Dale MacLean.
The family would like to take the opportunity to thank the following physicians: Dr. Andrew Wawer for his years of care, and most recently Dr. Zwicker and Dr. Ansari, along with the nursing staff at CBRH IMCU, and 4D.
Visitation for Lloyd MacLean will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Friday, March 7, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Ritchie Robinson officiating. The committal will be in the spring.
Family flowers only. Donations in Lloyd’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation or to a charity of choice.
Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.

That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish,
But have eternal life.’
