MAYNES, ELEANOR J. - 1929-2014 - Miramichi - Eleanor Janet Maynes, widow of the late Lawrence Maynes, of Queen Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday morning, March 7, 2014, at the age of 84. Born in Saint John, N.B., on April 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Flora (Lyle) Coombs. She was a Nurses Aid by occupation; a dedicated and long serving member of the St. John Ambulance; a member of the Pioneer Senior Citizens Club; a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Miramichi Chapter; a receipient of the Order of St. John; a former member of the R.C.A.F. 254 Wing, Miramichi. She was Anglican by faith. She is survived by one daughter, Heather Maynes, of Miramichi; two sisters, Beryl Marley, of Saint John and Claire Lynes, of Oregan, USA; one special niece, Terri Ellen Coombs, of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, in 1979; as well as several sisters and brothers.
By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A public funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 10, 2014, at 2 pm, conducted by Derek Carnahan. Immediately following the service, an informal gathering will be held with the family at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saint John, N.B. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
