SMITH, THOMAS ELMORE - Thomas Elmore Smith, 71, of Wheaton Settlement, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Dunnville, ON, he was a son of the late Hugh and Agnes (Dowd) Smith. His love and passion was working the family farm and he enjoyed Beekeeping, working in his woodlot and lending a helping hand to neighbours. He is survived and sadly missed by his companion Dawn Jathan; step-children Dwight Jathan and Naomi Hale (Nicholas); brothers Bruce Smith (Joyce) of Dunnville, ON and Glenn Smith of Saint John; sisters Ruth White of Cayuga, ON, Nadine Crossman (Charles) of Wheaton Settlement and Esther Smith of Moncton. Survived also by aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by infant siblings Kathleen and Hebert.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Monday, March 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel Tuesday, March 11 at 11 a.m. with Leslie Beddoe officiating.
