Stellarton; Florence “Jessie” Helen Ann MacLeod age 82 of Northwood Manor Nursing Home ,Halifax and formerly of Stellarton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 8th ,2014 in Northwood Manor .
Born in Stellarton she was the only daughter of the late Louis A and Florence May (Fraser) Baudoux.
Jessie attended and graduated from the School for the Deaf in Halifax. She excelled in speed skating ,winning medals and trophies throughout her school years.
Jessie enjoyed playing hockey and many outdoor sports all of her life. She was an avid hunteress.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church ,Stellarton.
Jessie was a hard worker who did all of her own carpentry.
During her working years she worked in the laundry dept .of the Aberdeen Hospital in the early 1960’s and 70’s. She then worked at Sobey’s Head office as a janitor in the 1980’s.
Surviving are her daughter Florence (Gordon) Stewart of Linacy
A son Fraser (Marsha) MacLeod of Stellarton
A daughter Helen MacLeod –MacKenzie of Saltsprings
Grandsons: Gordie , Shawn , David and Corey
Great grandchildren: Sheila and Hunter
A brother: Carl (Carol Anne) Baudoux of New Glasgow
Sister-in –laws: Pat Baudoux of Riverton and Doris Baudoux of White Hill
A very close and special niece Linda Watters
Also a number of nieces and nephews who she dearly loved and enjoyed .
A number of great nieces and nephews with lots of pride.
She was predeceased by her husband George Elmer Macleod
Twin infant daughters Frances and Freda
A son-in –law Timmy Mackenzie
Brothers Fraser ,Eldred (Pearl) , Arnie (Doris) , Garfield (Emma) ,Earl and Roy.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and7-9 P.M. on Tuesday in the H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel ,Stellarton .
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church Stellarton with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating . Burial will be at a later date in the Brookside Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Jessie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Northwood Manor Nursing Home , Halifax
