MAXAN, VERNA MARGUERITE (SCOTT) - It is with sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Verna Maxan announce her passing while surrounded by family on Friday, March 7, 2014. Born in Markhamville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Eliza Jane (MacFarlane) Scott and beloved wife of the late Glenn R. Maxan. Verna was very creative, enjoyed knitting, crafts, cooking, and spending time in her flower garden. She and Glenn were members of the “Good Time Bowling League” where they bowled together for more than 40 years. She loved to go on vacations, enjoyed many camping trips, cruises, and bus tours with family and friends. Verna’s weekly outings with her friends were very special to her. Verna had a heart of gold and truly cared for people. She will be sadly missed. Verna is survived by her children: Sharon Maxan (Richard Rice) of Quispamsis, NB, Dwight (Doreen) Maxan of Quispamsis, NB, Marilyn Maxan (Paul Moore) of Burlington, ON, and Sandra (Greg) Doucette of Moncton, NB; precious grandchildren Hilary, Alexander and Liam, as well as, several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband Glenn of 56 years, she was predeceased by her brothers Harold and Victor Scott, and sisters Lorna Scott and Irene O’Blenis.
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation Tuesday, March 11, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Park Avenue United Church at 1 pm, followed by a reception. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery.
