
William Craig McNamara

March 11, 1941-March 2, 2014 - Craig died at the North Okanagan Hospice House in Vernon on March 2nd after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma. Craig was born March 11, 1941 in Regina to William Craig (Bill) and Margaret McNamara and grew up in Winnipeg. He went on to post secondary education at South Dakota State University. He took a "short term" job at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's and stayed for over 30 years finishing as Director of Educational Television. In his retirement, he built his dream cabin on Gambo Pond, Newfoundland and spoke fondly of the adventures with friends "on the pond". He relocated to Enderby, BC to be closer to family and had many happy cross-country ski days with his sister Sharon and brother-in law Erich. Craig was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Gail Rice and Sharon Wurmann. He is survived by his sister Sandra Horton of Waterloo and brother-in-laws Bob Horton, Bob Rice of Toronto and Erich Wurmann of Winnipeg. He is affectionately remembered by his nine nieces and two nephews, all whom have fond memories of their bachelor Uncle Craig.
