Passed away suddenly on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Health Science Center in St. John's, Jerry Ralph Appleby at the age of 62 years. Jerry served 27 years as Councilor, Deputy Mayor, and Mayor of Burin Town Council. He served 41 years with the Masonic Lodge, Burin and was a founding member of the Boot Shrine Club. He served various years as vestry member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Leaving to mourn loving wife of 40 years Ella (Inkpen); three daughters Trina (Tony), Tanya, and Tammy (Peter); son Trevor (Norma); four precious grandchildren whom he adored Kathy, Jake, Suzanna, and Simon. Also survived by mother Muriel; sisters Joy (Sandy) and Jill (Jim); brother Jeff (Mary Joy), and a number of nieces and nephews; sister in law Sue (Alvin); brother's in law Arnold (Valetta), William (Dorothy), Fraser (Elaine), Roy, and Earl. Predeceased by his father Fred Appleby. Visitation at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin, Monday and Tuesday, March 10th and 11th from 10AM to 9PM. Funeral Service will take place from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ship Cove, Wednesday, March 12th at 2PM with cremation following.
