The death occurred suddenly at home on Thompson Road on Friday, March 7, 2014, of James "Jim" Cormier of Thompson Road, aged 55 years. Beloved husband of Christine (Doucette) Cormier. He was born in Alberton on November 28, 1958, the son of Elaine (Gallant) Cormier of Tignish Senior Home Care and the late Ray Cormier. Dear father to Dale (Sabrina) Cormier, Tignish; Jessica (Aaron) Weatherbie, Pleasant Grove; and Mitch Cormier, Harper Road. Loving grampie to Mya Cormier, Owen and Lila Weatherbie. He is survived by brothers and sisters Claude (Linda) Cormier, Waterford; Pat (Carmie) Cormier, Schurman Point; Marlene (David) Aylward, Pleasant View; Marie (Jimmy) Arsenault, Pleasant View; and Bruce Cormier, Alberta. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Christopher, Tignish. He was predeceased by his father Ray and father-in-law Frederick Doucette. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, for visiting hours Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Funeral will be held Tuesday, March 11, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, where funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Arthur Sequeira at 3 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The Palmer Road Council of the Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service Tuesday afternoon at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
