Passed peacefully away surrounded by family and friends on Sunday March 9th at Brookfield Hospital, Daniel in his 95th year. He was predeceased by his parents George and Florence Melendy of Templeman, his wife Jane (Collins) of Newport, two brothers and their wives Norman(Ruth), and Frank(Geraldine). Left with many loving memories are his immediate family: daughter Marie (Rick LeBlanc) St. John's, sons Fred (Brenda) Mt. Pearl, and Dean (Darlene) Fall River, NS. and grandson Justin. Others played an important role in Dan's life - nieces and nephews, cousins, home care workers, neighbours and members of his local congregation. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. The distress of this period in his life was lessened due to the help provided by the staff of Brookfield Hospital, family and friends who made regular visits, sent e-mails of encouragement, and ran errands on his behalf. Many thanks to all of you. Memorial service to take place at the Lumsden Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2:30 on Saturday March 15th.
