Formerly of 2nd Street in New Aberdeen and New Hampshire, U.S.A., Dook passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Timothy and Mary (‘Min’ Foley) Donovan.
Dook had a great passion for working with horses and was a horseman throughout Canada and the U.S.A. He will be remembered by many for his contribution to the horse racing game.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews in Glace Bay and the U.S.A.; and, his caregiver/guardian and niece Shirley (Alex) MacCuish.
Dook was predeceased by his wife, Mary, four brothers, Jim, Francis, Wishy and Bill and by one sister Ann McInnis.
Visitation for Tim 'Dook' will be take place in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St' Glace Bay on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 1-3 p.m.; with funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery.
