It is with great sadness we wish to announce the passing of John Sutherland MacLean at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Saturday March 15, 2014, surrounded by his family.
A resident of Davenport Road, Sydney, J.S. was born on May 30, 1935, the son of the late Samuel and Isabel (Telfer) MacLean.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A retired steelworker he worked for over 30 years in the Sysco Railway Department.
John is survived by his wife the former Marjorie Anderson, son John, daughter Isabel, grandchildren David, Matt, John, Alex, Emily, Peter and great-grandchild D.J.
He was predeceased by a sister Veronica and a son David.
Visitation for the late Mr. MacLean will take place on Wednesday, March 19 from 2-4 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel.
A private family committal will be held at a later date.
Donations in J.S.’s memory may be given to a charity of choice.
