(July 19, 1936 - March 15, 2014) - Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre on Saturday, March 15, 2014, in his seventy-eighth year, Ernest Cyril Melbourne, retired CN Police Officer. Predeceased by his father Cyril, and his mother Ada (nee Dominie); brother Winston; sister Carrie; and brother-in-law Bob Pike. Leaving to mourn his loving and caring wife Doris (nee Snelgrove); son Jeff; daughter-in-law Melanie; two greatly adored grandchildren: Jakob and Ben; sister Bernetta (John); brothers: Lloyd (Linda), and Kevin (Linda); and sister-in-law Eleanor Melbourne; as well as a large circle of close family and friends. Visitation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service and inurnment will take place at a later date.
