JONES, Joice Arnold – age 76, Brunswick Street, Yarmouth, formerly of Cliff Street, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at home. Born March 31, 1937 in Guysborough, he was a son of the late Thomas Jones and Mary Rumley. Joice’s passions were playing guitar and working on cars. He is survived by his wife, Doris C. (McCall) Jones, as well as by his children, Leona (Robert) Larkin, Yarmouth; Barbara (Barret) Jones, Mary Jones, Livi Jones, all of Halifax; Joyce Smith, Guysborough, Thomas Jones, Ontario. He is also survived by his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Haley, as well as by 13 other grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Wayne (Brenda) Dort, Barbara Dort, Marie (Richard) Hodge, all of Halifax; Roger Dort. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Wilson Dort. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20 at Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. Burial followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth.
