Barbara (Lola) Chadwick (formerly Rattee), 73, late of Point Edward, died of lung disease in Kingston, Ontario on Friday, 21 March, 2014 surrounded by family. Lola was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Charles Albert and Barbara Leslie Rattee. Loving sister to Garth Rattee and Patricia Rattee and predeceased by her sister Margaret Rattee and her husband Harold Richard Chadwick. Loving mother to Bryan (Patty) Chadwick of Moose Jaw, Tracy MacPherson of Mooretown, Ontario, Scott (Carla) Chadwick of Big River, Saskatchewan, Buff (Marla) Chadwick of Godfrey, Ontario and Harold (Lynn) Chadwick of Bright’s Grove, Ontario. Proud grandmother to Laura, Jill, Lindsey, Maclaine, Adam, Trenton, Nicholas, Daly, Carly, Keighan, Emma-Li, Sheldon, and Harrison and great-grandmother to Jayden, Nate, Jace and Marley. Lola was a talented hairdresser who enjoyed the company of a wide circle of friends across Canada and across the years. She surprised many with the tenacity she displayed in her fight against lung disease and died proud of the many achievements of her family. She will forever be remembered as a champion of those she loved, her compassion for animals and for her resilience following the death of her husband. Lola will be interred with her family in Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Saturday, 29 March, 2014. A reception will follow at the home of Jeanette and Garth Rattee – 21 Lewry Crescent - from 2:00 to 4:00PM for family and friends. A later service at Canatara Park, Sarnia, Ontario on 24 May, 2014 will be followed by a reception at the Point Edward Ex-Serviceman’s Club. In lieu of flowers a donation to your local animal shelter would be appreciated. Lola’s Family would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors at Kingston General Hospital. Their professionalism and compassion was sincerely appreciated.
