It is with great sadness that the family of Maxwell Arthur Gilbert announce his passing on Monday, March 24th, 2014 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre at the age of 79. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Genova; daughter, Joanne Payne (Angus); two grandchildren: Andrew and Kaitlyn; siblings: Ethel Randell, George (Joyce), Clarence (Rhoda), Violet Gilbert, Ivy Roberts (Joe) and John; sister-in-law, Lola McLean; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John & Martha Gilbert; sisters: Annie and her husband Orestus Gardner, Marjorie and her husband Ken Fiander; brothers-in-law: Roy Randell and Shirl McLean; sister-in-law, Rowena and her husband Garland Vardy. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Curling Street, with Reverend Rosemarie Payne officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon.
