Sharon Faith (Baird) Robertson

Lieu de naissance : Cole Harbour

Lieu de décès : L'Ardoise

I have chosen to write my own obituary prior to my death.
Born in 1944, my parents are Muriel Martell (Ferguson) of L’Ardoise, presently residing in Sydney and the late Edward Baird, Pictou (WW2). The late, Matthew Ferguson, was my stepfather. I have lived with invasive breast cancer for the last 15 years. I thank God sincerely for the time allotted to me.
My family is foremost in my life. Our two daughters, Giselle and Jill have been absolute God sends — so caring, loving, sensitive and attentive. Our grandson Luke, whom we raised, is a loveable, jovial and witty young many who loves life — always a laugh or two when he’s around. My husband Gerry, despite his own medical limitations constantly dotes on me. He is so loving and supportive at a time in my life when I need him the most.My family’s daily kisses, hugs and “love you” will remain with me into my next life. In 2005 we lost our youngest child Eddie, age 35 to heart disease. Eddie’s spirit is so much alive and with us to this day. I hope and pray our love for one another and others continues to flood all hearts!
I leave behind my beautiful and caring mother Muriel, brother Leslie (Irene and niece Jessica), first cousin Pat (Cindy) who is more like a brother to me, cousins Harry (Carolyn), Connie, Susan, Ann, Jenny and Gracie, my Godchild Claude. In laws — Peter (predeceased), Sue (Al), Marjorie (Graham), Georgie (Rena), Robert (Annette) and their lovely children and grandchildren. My children’s friends, who were like my own: Michael, Wade, Kevin, Neal, Gary and all the other friends who graced our doorstep.
Friends Mavis (Claude), Eileen, Bev, Carolyn, Vera, Kathryn, Joe, Barbara Ann and Michael, Judy and Ricky, Lou and Marie, Laura and Barry, Anne Louise and Clifford, Joan and Eddie, Matt and Patsy, Camille and Shirley, Colleen and Gilbert, Sherry and John, Iris and Barry, Freeman and Cathy, my friends at Parkland and Pope John Paul community as well as friends and acquaintances in Cole Harbour, Sydney and Richmond County.
Words cannot express how grateful I am to have been a patient of Dr. Dan Rayson, oncologist and his nurse Helen and Dr. Susan Malloy, our family physician and friend.
Superb care was provided by Palliative Care, VON, Continuing Care, the staff of Dartmouth General. Deacon Larry and Father Eric Bem’s guidance and concern is greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much everyone and God bless!
I am an RN by profession and also worked in Real Estate for many years. My remains are to be donated to Dalhousie University, Faculty of Medicine for the advancement of education and research.
Memorial Mass to be held Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at Pope John Paul Parish, Cole Harbour.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please donate to a charity of your choice. A prayer for all souls would be greatly appreciated and especially for the dear little children suffering with cancer.
Bye for now, until we meet again, love one another and pray for one another. Sharon.
