At Summit Rehab and Nursing facility, Plantsville, CT, Mrs.
Irene Ouellette passed away on March 30, 2014 at the age of 91.

Born on March 4, 1923 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Greta (McLean) McLaughlin, and widow of the late Landry Ouellette.

A thirty year career in the Telephone industry began in her home town of Grand Falls, New Brunswick back in the 1940’s where she worked as a switchboard operator.

She later worked as a Directory assistant operator for SNETCO in Bristol, Ct. where she retired in the 1980’s.

She is survived by two sons, Herb Ouellette of New York City, and Don Ouellette of Bristol, CT. as well as a sister Joyce Jaeger of New Mexico, and a brother Edwin McLaughlin of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 beginning with calling hours from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol and will proceed to St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. A committal service will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave, Bristol. Memorial contributions can be made in Irene’s name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20077-7127.
