The family of the late Lorraine Bursey would like to express our sincerest gratitude to all those who helped us during our recent difficult days. Thank you for the expressions of love and kindness shown at the loss of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. Thank you for the numerous expressions of sympathy shown during visits to the funeral home and through phone calls, cards, flowers, online condolences, and gifts of food. Thank you for the donations in memory of Lorraine to the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation, Western Regional Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Humber United Church and St. John The Evangelist Church.

Our family is grateful to Reverend Clayton Parsons for his visits to the hospital, to our home and for his officiating at the funeral service; his presence during this difficult time brought us comfort. We would like to acknowledge the Humber United Church, its organist, and choir for their participation in the service. In addition, we were honoured by the attendance of members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook and the Corner Brook Fire Department.

We appreciated the kindness, understanding and respect shown to our family by the doctors, nurses and support staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital emergency department and intensive care unit in carrying out their professional duties. We extend that appreciation to Fillatre’s Funeral Homes for their care and patience in attending to our needs.

Thank you to the family and friends who visited us and attended the funeral service, some travelling from far away, and especially to those who participated in the service by sharing memories of Lorraine and reading scripture.

Our family will always remember the compassion and sympathy shown to us by everyone during this difficult time. Lorraine will be missed by many, but her smile will always live in all our hearts.
