Jessie Margaret O’Leary, of Tometary Drive, Howie Center, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Birch Grove, she was the daughter of the late John and Katie (MacDonald) Hart.
Jessie was an avid traveller, enjoying trips to Florida and across Canada, as well as visiting friends and relatives in Toronto. She never forgot her roots, always keeping in touch with many friends.
Surviving are her sons, Gary, Howie Center, and Calvin (Ginny), Toronto; granddaughter, Lyn Marie; great-grandsons, Aiden and Liam. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, Catherine Stone and Janet MacVicar. as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Cyril; sister, Sarah McInnis; brothers, Clarence and Stuart Hart.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Sunday 2 p.m., with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the United Protestant Church of Sydney River or a charity of your choice.
