We regret to announce the passing of Agnes MacKinnon, on Friday, April 4, 2014, at home.
Born in Glace Bay on May 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Theresa (Maloney) Woodford.
A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, Andrew MacKinnon; sons, Andrew (Evelyn) and Shaun (Karen), and her daughter, Terry. She is also survived by her precious granddaughters, Kristy, Julia, Brehanna, Andrea and Jamie. Agnes is also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially Gail Neal, Truro, Ginny Mammoletti, Ottawa, Sharon Yates and Carol Cadden, both of New Waterford, Michelle Parsons, Mira, Rick Parsons, Hills Road, Anita Danyluk, Glace Bay; sister-in-law, Myrna Woodford, Glace Bay, and her lifelong friends, Jenny Gordon and Brenda Gordon.
Besides her parents, Agnes was predeceased by her brothers, Roy, Fred and Raymond, and by sisters, Olga Parsons and Anne Dennis.
Donations may be made to the Haley Street Adult Center.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, (formerly St. Pius X), Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall, after the service.
