Peacefully, at Colville Manor, on Saturday, April 5, 2014, Desmond Larkin, age 83, of Farmington, was surrounded by his loving family when embraced into the arms of Jesus and taken home.
Beloved husband of the late Gertrude (MacKinnon) and loving father of Kevin (Eleanor), Wayne, Linda Savoie, Kate (Andrew) O’Hanley, Wanda (Wayne) Johnston, Larry (Mary Lee), Edith (Stephen Pate), Audrey (Robbie Gill) Llewellyn, and Darin (Thelma). He is also fondly remembered and sadly missed by his 26 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He is survived by sister Eileen (Paul) Kingsbury of Elmina, New York, sister-in-law Ann Larkin of Boston, Massachusetts, brother-in law Louis (Bunnie) MacKinnon, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, John and Katie Larkin; infant daughter, Sandra; brothers, AJ, Paul and Wencil; sisters, Gwen and Muriel; son-in-law, Gerald; and brother-in law, Ernie.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris for visiting hours on Tuesday, April 8, from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Interment in St. Peters Roman Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date.
