
Russell Edson Levy
Levy Russell Edson, 84, Truro & formerly from Sheet Harbour Passage passed away Tuesday, April 8. 2014. In Vimy Court Long Term Care Facility, Bible Hill. Born December 12, 1929 in Sheet Harbour Passage he was a son of the late Oliver & Winnifred (Kenney) Levy. Russell was a lobster fisherman and trucker all his life and a member of Eureka Lodge #42 for over 50 years. Russell was very proud of the Cape Islander “Katrina D” that he built with his own hands, he enjoyed telling stories, gardening, reading the daily news paper and washing and waxing his Vehicles, He and his wife Helen spent many weekends at Scotia Pine Camp grounds where they formed many lasting friendships with fellow campers. Survived by his wife of 63 years the former Helen Spears, Truro, daughter Darlene (John) Gualt, Sheet Harbour, granddaughter Katrina Gault (Bruce MacNutt) Truro, sister Elsie Spears, Sheet Harbour.
Predeceased by son Kevin, Sister Shirley in infancy. Visitation Thursday, April 10th, 2-4 & 7-9 with prayers at 7:30 P.M. with Masonic service following all in D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 #7 Highway, Sheet Harbour. Funeral service will be held Friday, 2 P.M. in St. Margaret’s Anglican Church, Sober Island, Rev. Melissa Frankland officiating, burial in the church cemetery. Reception to follow at the Sheet Harbour Legion.
