It is with heavy hearts we regret to announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Martha Morrison on March 30, 2014 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Ma was strong willed and independent. She loved to knit, play bingo and bake. She had a great sense of humour and loved to have a great time with friends. She was blessed with many good friends and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. The family is pleased that Dalhousie University Medical centre has accepted Martha’s remains for research.
Martha was predeceased by husband, Paul; sons, John Leo and Benjamin.
She is survived by her children, Paulette, Teresa (Jane), Michael (Leanne Simmons), Marion (Reg) Smith, Kelly (Paul) Cosnick, Marcella and Mary; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Dolly (Vern) Defoe, Ontario.
The celebration of Martha’s life will take place on April 19 at 11 a.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
