Jan. 22, 1970 - Jan. 23, 2014 - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Harris announce his passing at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC Jan. 23, 2014. Predeceased by grandparents, Robert and Margaret Harris of Grand Bank, and Patrick and Rita Power of St. Patrick's. Leaving to mourn his devoted and loving wife Dana, sons Mathew and Mark; daughter Tiffany, fiancé (Mike Banack); parents Charles and Theresa Harris of St. Patrick's, NL; brother Charlie (Bernadine); father and mother-in-law Doug and Maxine Tipton; father-in-law Doug Murphy; brothers-in- law D.J. (Denah), David (Dana); nieces and nephews Nicholas, Juliette and Emilie Harris, Liam and Brooke Murphy. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. A celebration of Mike's life took place on Feb. 2, 2014 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Chemainus, BC. Cremation has taken place. You can shed tears that he is gone. Or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back. Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him. Or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday. Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone. Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what he would want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
