Robert Sterling Stevens (served with the Sydney City Police force for 10 years and with the OPP for 30 years, retiring as Traffic Sargent with District 7, Barrie Detachment. Founding Pipe Major with OPP Pipe and Drums.)
Passed away at the Royal Victoria Health Centre with his family by his side, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in his 83rd year.
Robert, beloved husband of Cheryl 'Sherry' (nee Poirier). Son of Lillian and Lawson Stevens. Loving father of Kevin (Chantale), Bob (Kathy Rothlisberger). Grant (Linda), Catherine Aubut (Kevin McNally), Sandra Harris (Rob), Carol MacCormick (Brad Boshart) and Evan (Sarah). Cherished by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Lawrence, Stuart, Christine and Ted. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will not be any services at this time.
If desired, memorial donations made to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff of 3GC at the Royal Victoria Health Care Centre and Dr. Hyslop for their compassionate care and patience.
