JENSEN, HAZEL - The passing of Hazel Jensen of Tobique Valley Manor, Plaster Rock occurred on April 19, 2014 at the age of 88. Born at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia in 1925, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Pearl Brannen. She is survived by her children; Julia Goodine (Glen) of Tilley, Judy of Oromocto, Bruce Jensen (Robin) of Wicklow, Caroline Aiton (Jeff) of Grande Prairie, AB, step-sons: John Jensen (Rhoda) of Ontario, Larry Jensen (Eileen) and Clayton (Carol-Ann), both of New Denmark, 20 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one sister, Sylvia Grant of Yarmouth, NS, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, brothers, Bobby, Buddy, Victor, sisters, Margaret and Marjorie. Hazel was a loving mother and loved her grand and great grandchildren. During her life, she worked at Royal Department Store of Yarmouth, NS and attended the Baptist Church where she was a very active member. She met Walter and moved to New Denmark and raised her children. She later entered Tobique Valley Manor and was a resident for 31 years. Hazel’s Christian faith was the center of her life. It didn’t matter where she was, she strived to bring honour to her Saviour.
Resting at Grace and Truth Tabernacle, New Denmark with visiting hours Monday, April 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held from the church on Tuesday, April 22nd at 1 p.m. with Pastor Michael Whittmeier officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations to a local mental health association or the Tobique Valley Manor would be appreciated by the family.
