The death occurred at Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary, on Thursday, April 17, 2014, of Paul Jerome Gallant, formerly of Howlan, aged 88, husband of the late Alvina Gallant. Born in Howlan on Sept. 4, 1925, son of the late Jerome and Edith (Perry) Gallant. Dear father to Eddie (Rebecca), Howlan; Kenny, Howlan; Tony (Ruthie), Dunblane; Christine (Roger) Arsenault, Woodstock; Florence Gallant (Charlie Arbing), Woodstock and Darlene Gallant (Wendell Dockerty), Cardigan. Loving grandfather to Jennifer (Neil) Perry, Lisa (Catlin) Gallant, Darcy Gallant, Savannah Arsenault, Katelyn Dockerty and step grandchildren Matt Ellsworth (Amanda Pineau), Tamara (Mitchell) Currie, Michael Arbing (Elora Arsenault), David Arbing, Andrea Langille, Rachel Arbing and great-grandchildren, Hayley, Chloe, Aiden, Dante, Dustin, Hudson, Kingston, Isla, Shyann and Colton. Paul is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Emily Arsenault, Summerside; Bernetta (Harold) Ellsworth, St. Louis; Rose (David) Wedge, Summerside; Geralda (Bob) Aitkens, Dartmouth, N.S.; Shirley (Bobby) Gaudet, Summerside; Dally (Dorothy) Thibodeau, St. Edwards; Gilbert Thibodeau, Summerside; Josie Thibodeau, Montrose; Clifford (Nancy) DesRoches, Summerside and Eileen Wedge, Howlan. Predeceased by his parents, wife, Alvina (2011), children Paul and Paula (twins) in infancy, stepgrandson Clint, brothers: Henry, Edward, Louis, his sister, Rita, stepsister Celina and half brother, John. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Sunday, April 20, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service on Monday at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at a later date in St. Anthony’s Parish Cemetery.
