Joan Nelson
NELSON, JOAN LOUISE - 1947 - 2014 - Joan Louise Nelson, 66, of Kenneth Spencer Memorial Home, passed away on April 21st, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Joan was born in Edgett's Landing on August 29th, 1947 the daughter of the late Arnold Nelson and Beulah (Steeves) Nelson Beaumont. She was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. She graduated from Community College in St. Stephen and was a seamstress by trade. She worked at several different jobs throughout her lifetime, having worked for Electrolux, Sumner Tire, was a florist, worked as a cook / waitress in a restaurant, cab driver and was co-owner of a courier business, taking parcels from NB to PEI. She will be remembered for her great sense of humour. One thing about Joan, you never had to ask her opinion, she would definitely tell you what she was thinking and was very to the point. She was a very special sister and aunt who left us with many great memories and laughs. "What we keep in memory is ours forever."
She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Carol Nelson of Riverview and Frederica Long of Moncton; special nieces and nephews, Kim Melanson (Leo) of Grande Digue, Denise Tingley (Howard) of Hillsborough, Troy Nelson of Moncton, Aaron Nelson (Cathy) of Hillsborough, ; treasured great nieces and great nephews, Tanya, Alicia (Luke) and Andre (Jodie), Luc (Melanie), Erica (Shawn), Garrett, Alison, Becca, Caroline, Samuel and Alexander; precious great great nieces and great great nephews, Hannah, Carter, Dawson and Summer. She will also be missed by her ex-husband and friend, Barry Amos of Moncton. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her step-father, Hilliard Beaumont; two brothers, Philip and Herb.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held at the Valley Baptist Church on Saturday at 2:00pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the Church Fellowship Center. Interment will be in the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB. Donations to the Green Hill Cemetery or Charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
