Alice Irene Green (nee Heintz ), age 83, of Swift Current, SK passed away April 23, 2014 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The funeral service was held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Apri126, 2014 from the Eastside Church of God with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. The music was provided by Dave Smith and Mary Henderson. Alice's sons Ed and Dan gave the eulogy. The internment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. The pallbearers were Darin Green, Jason Green, Bentley Heintz and Wilbert Genoves. Alice is survived by her children Ed and Dan Green; grandchildren Darin (Becky) Green, Jason Green and Jennifer Green; great grandchildren Alison and Emily Green; two sisters Mae Quinn and Lucille McTaggart and nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her parents Edward and Cora Heintz (nee Farrell); brothers Melvin and Mervyn Heintz; and brother-in-law Harold Quinn. Alice's belief in God and reverence for her Saviour, Jesus Christ, was equaled only by the love she gave and received from her family and friends. Alice was employed at the Palliser Regional Hospital and later at the Prairie Pioneers Lodge as a nurse attendant. An avid philanthropist Alice was interested in many charitable organizations and gave financially to support their cause. She always looked forward to spring when she would prepare to plant her flower garden. Alice loved to bake and would make delicious loaves of bread, pastries and cookies. Spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren was a constant source of joy and kept her young.
