Lauchlin 'Lauchie', 74 of New Glasgow, passed away April 25, 2014, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Glace Bay, Lauchie was a son of the late Alfred Edward and Mary Catherine (O’Neill) McKay.
Lauchie enjoyed golfing and his involvement with the Pictou County Minor Hockey Association.
He is survived by his son, Francis; grandchildren, Jensen and Keigan; great-granddaughter, Lileigh; sisters, Mary (Max) MacDonald, Genevieve 'Jenny' (Stanley) Blanchard, Pamela (Herbie) Fahey; a brother Daniel, and a very dear friend Carolyn.
Predeceased by his wife Lee Marie Johnstone R.N.; son Shawn and a brother Raymond.
Cremation to take place. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 2 p.m. Friday from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Fr. Peter MacDonald presiding. Burial of ashes will take place in the parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Lauchie may be made to the Our lady of Lourdes Parish Cemetery or to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society.
