CORMIER, ODILE "DELLA" – Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the age of 92. Born March 1, 1922 in Portage River, NB she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Suzanne (Brideau) Mallais. She was the last surviving member of her family, Della enjoyed all her friends at the Loch Lomond Villa Seniors Outreach Program, dancing and loved spending time at the family summer home in Kars, NB. Della will be dearly missed by daughters Diane Button, Lauretta (Brian) Parsons, Gould, Theresa (John) Richard, Gloria (Doug) Mitton, Barbara (Wayne) Stephen all of Saint John, NB, special daughters Augusta Halcovitch of Moncton, NB and Wendy MacLellan of Saint John, NB; sons James of Toronto, ON, Jack, Lee, Delbert (Marion) all of Saint John, NB; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; God son Ivan Brideau; cousin Lauza Glaspy; friends Rita, Inger, Willis, Joy and all her special friends from the Loch Lomond Villa Seniors Outreach Program. Besides her parents Della was predeceased by her husband Theodore, son Theodore Jr., great-granddaughter “Our Angel” Melissa Fowler, brothers Edward, Phillias, Gustave, sisters Jane, Suzanne and Elizabeth.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424). Keeping with Della’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension.
