ERIS C. COWAN

ERIS C. COWAN

December 28, 1916 - April 20. 2014
Our dear Eris - wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, early Easter Sunday morning.
Eris was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Harvey Cowan (1910-1986) and her grandson
Malcolm (1998-2000). She leaves behind her many friends and family; daughter Shannon (Ray), son Linton (Sue), grandchildren; Airlie (Dave), Bill (Gina), Robb (Rita), Leigh (Shannon); great-grandchildren; Travis, Ryder, Tristin, Ayla, Dayton and Darius.
Eris spent most of her years in Vancouver. In 1992 she moved to Sechelt where she could be closer to her family.
Family was her world and she was ours! We lovingly called her Mum, Ma, Auntie Eris, Nana, Nan, Nana Jane, and Jane. She truly was the matriarch of our family.
Eris adored being a mother, embraced being a grandmother and was so proud to be a great-grandmother. Eris will be dearly missed by her Hartney, Manitoba family as well, whom she held dear to her heart. She and Harvey spent many summers and harvests in Hartney which was a highlight for them all.
Eris liked to be the queen, she loved to entertain, and she enjoyed having family and friends for gatherings or just tea after church.
Eris was a social butterfly in the community and could be seen walking through Sechelt visiting various merchants and friends. She also loved talking on the phone.....and could be on for some length of time.
Eris was a true lady with poise, grace and dignity. She had style. Even in her last days she made sure to have her lipstick on, nails painted, and hair done. She was always gracious, to the end.
Mother's love and caring made a difference in all her family and friends lives and we hold her in our hearts forever. We were very lucky to have her with us for so long.
Eris was very fond of her caregivers at Totem Care Home, St. Mary's Hospital, Sechelt, BC. You are wonderful, we thank you for the care and attention you gave Eris.
A celebration tea luncheon for Eris will be held at Ray and Shannon Stockwell's, 6245 Sechelt Inlet Road, Sechelt, BC on Sunday, May 25 at 2pm.
All whom knew her are welcome to come by and share memories, stories and celebrate her life.
