It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of a beloved partner, daughter, sister and aunt. Surrounded by her loving family, Linda Eileen Gibbons passed away at the Health Science Center on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the age of 53. Predeceased by her father, Martin (January 2014). Left to mourn, but cherish her life, are: her loving partner of 26 years, Vaughn Granter, Corner Brook; mother, Annie Gibbons, Pigeon Cove; sisters: Joy (Keith) Doyle, Humber Valley; Lillian (Ramsey) Dredge, St. Barbe; Mary Jane (Shawn) Warren, St. Anthony; brother, Martin (Leona) Gibbons, St. John ’s; mother-in-law, Barbara Granter (Pools Island); sisters-in-law: Ruth Collins (Wilf), St. John’s and Sheila (Albert Sheppard), Pool’s Island; brothers-in-law: Frank (Marlene) Granter, Pool’s Island, Clyde (Wendy) Granter, Blaketown; nephews and nieces: Danica (Neil Kenny), Chantel Doyle, Katie Doyle, Christopher Dredge (Jennifer Bolt), Jonathan Dredge, Ian Warren, Bradley Warren, Victoria Warren, Brianna Gibbons and Nickolas Gibbons, Kim Collins (Matthew Fuchs), Mark (Tanya) Sheppard, Nicholas Granter, Mackenzie Granter, Nicole Granter (Travis Boland), Krista Collins (Curt Soper); and special great-nieces: Raya, Grace, Sophia and Adair; as well as a large circle of family and friends. On her journey through life, Eileen made a huge impact on the many lives that she touched, including the ­thousands of young minds she helped mold during her 30 year teaching career at Templeton Collegiate and G. C. Rowe Junior High. Her belief in students and her challenge to bring out the best in all of them on a daily basis earned her a teaching reputation unparalleled. She was admired for her remarkable strengths, unwavering sense of humor, beautiful smile and selflessness. Taken much too early, her strong spirit and caring soul will live on in the lives of many. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, on Friday, May 2nd, 2014 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. There will be a family service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Black Duck Cove, NL on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Sunday, May 4th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Harold Harvey officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Black Duck Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
