POWNEY, ROBERT CAMERON - 1935 - 2014 - Robert C. Powney, 79, of Weldon, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Born in Montreal, PQ, he was the son of the late William and Rachel (Brown) Powney. Robert was a retired System Immigration Controller with Air Canada with 30 years’ service, before retiring to Weldon. Robert loved cats and had many hobbies including travel and needlepoint. Robert will be sadly missed by his dear friend, Alvin Edgett of Weldon; as well as two nieces and one nephew in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, William and George and sister, Catherine.
In honoring Robert’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment, Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, at a later date.
