BANNISTER, ELVIN - With great sadness the family announces the passing of Elvin Stanley Bannister, loving husband to Mary Ellen (McDonald) Bannister, which occurred on Friday May 2, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in 1940 in Saint John, he was the son of Elvin M. (deceased) and Winnifred C. Bannister. Elvin was employed with Baxter Dairies for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Carleton Union #8, the Saint John Shrine Club and Royal Military College. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Gregory (Colleen) of Ottawa, ON and Carl (Jacqueline) of Salmon Arm, BC; daughter Laura (Richard) of Chalk River, ON; brother Tony of Powell River, BC; sisters Marie Ramsay of Hamilton , ON and Deborah (Richard) of Abbotsford, BC and grandchildren Alyson, Andrew, Rebecca, Rachael and Sophia. Predeceased by brothers Kenneth and Ronald and sister Patricia.
