Oct. 24, 1934-May 3, 2014 - Passed peacefully away after a very brief illness in the presence of family. Predeceased by brother Gerald and sister Mary. Left to mourn: brother Raymond (Magdalene) Vickers, sister Geraldine (Tom) Woodfine, nieces, nephews and their families. Also mourning is a special friend Ann O'Driscoll, plus a large number of other close friends, too numerous to mention, and long-time, great neighbors. Joan grew up in Witless Bay and then moved at an early age to Gander where she was employed with Trans Canada Airlines. Relocated to Montreal and had a successful career as a flight attendant traveling extensively throughout the world. Eventually she moved back to NL and started a second career with the NLNU in their accounting department. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation hours on Sunday, May 4th and Monday, May 5th from 2 - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Witless Bay on Tuesday, May 6th at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross R. C. Cemetery, Witless Bay. Joan's passion was her garden so flowers greatly accepted. RIP.
