The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Friday Dec. 19, 2008, of Yvon Poirier of Wellington, formerly of St. Raphael, aged 75 years. He is the son of late Albin and Agnes (nee Arsenault) Poirier. Beloved husband of Alfreda (nee Gallant). He is also survived by sons and daughters, Eric (Paulette) of St. Raphael; Jeannette (Gerard) Richard of Mont Carmel, Colette (Marcel) Richard of Summerside, Roger of Summerside, Ronald (Bonnie) of Fredericton, N.B., Rita (Chris) Gallant of Charlottetown, Noella (Jacques) Jomphe of Fredericton, N.B., and Robert of St Raphael, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a sister, Rita (late Russell) Blacquiere of Hamilton, Ont., sisters-in-law, Leona Poirier of Mont Carmel, Claudia (late Victorin) Arsenault of Wellington, Lucie (Olie) MacDonald of Summerside, Marie (late Glorice) of Le Chez Nous Wellington, Elva(late Josie) Arsenault of New York and a brother-in-law, Expedit (Anita) Gallant of St. Raphael and a half brother Alfred (Alice) Richard of Summerside. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by brothers, Omer, Edmond and Sylvere (late Doris ) and brother-in-law- Eloi (late Clara). Resting at the Evangeline Funeral Home until Wednesday then to Notre Dame du Mt. Carmel Church for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Visitation shall be received on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Mont Carmel Parish shall be greatly appreciated. Interment in the church cemetery.
