MORIARTY, MARION - Marion Ruth Moriarity, loving wife of Owen Moriarity, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1931 in Berwick, NS she was the daughter of the late Guy and Myrna (Acker) Robar. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Richard Robar, Arnold Robar, Russell Robar and Maurice Robar and sister Florence Patterson. Marion was known as “Nanny” to everyone. She was an adopted mother and grandmother to all who knew her and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her loving husband of 56 years, Owen, she is survived by her sons David Hiltz (Marilyn Ward) of Waterville, NS, Roderick Moriarity (Angela) of Saint John, NB and Cecil Moriarity of Saint John; daughters Barbara Dempsey (Mike) of Auburn, NS and Myrna Moriarity (Art) of Saint John, NB; grandchildren April Torrie (Bobby), Kevin Moriarity (MacKenzie), Samantha Randell (Jason) and Amanda Moriarity;great grandchildren Ryan, Dylan, Alexis and Eric.
In keeping with Marion’s wishes there will be no visitations. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery.
