(August, 16, 1928 - May 6, 2014) - Surrounded by his loving family, Selby passed peacefully away at St Clare's Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Son of Herbert & Stella (Andrews) Pack; predeceased by parents in-law John and Louisa Chafe; brother Clarence; brothers in- law David Irving, Arthur Noseworthy, Donald Pack, Garland Seymour, Andrew Chafe; and sister in-law Joan Pack. Cherishing a life of special memories are his wife of almost 60 years and best friend, Alma; daughters, Stella Callighen (Michael) and Diane Winsor (Gary); son Douglas (Josée); Grandchildren Lauren Callighen Redstone (Peter), Nathan Callighen; David Winsor (Meghan Tracey), Stephen Winsor (Ollie Nagy), Andrew Winsor and Cassandra Pack; and Great grandson, Liam Redstone; dear sister, Rita Irving, brothers and sisters in-law Ruth Pack, Dorothy Noseworthy, Hannah Seymour Ayres (Clary), Alex Chafe (Lucy) and Gladys Chafe. Also celebrating his life is a wide circle of loving and supportive nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He felt so proud and blessed to have each of you in his life. Special thank you to Dr. George Fox and his team who assisted Selby to live life to the fullest; and to the staff of St. Clare's ER, CCU and 4th floor for wonderful care and kindness this week. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, May 8th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, and Friday, May 9th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place from the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 at 11:00am, with inurnment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road, St. John's. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the School Lunch Association or Anglican Homes Inc. (St. Luke's Homes).
