PICTOU – Winnifred Helen Hattie, 88, of Summit Dr., Pictou, passed away May 7, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Clare (MacDonald) Bezanson.
A graduate of New Glasgow High School, she served with the Women’s Royal Naval Service during the Second World War.
She was a loving mother and is survived by her children, Susan Burke, Halifax; Colin (Ella) Hattie, Saint John, New Brunswick; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley (Morris) Clayton, Bedford.
Winnifred was predeceased by her husband, Roy in August 2013; daughter, Janet in infancy; sisters, Jessie Proudfoot and Eleanor Smith; brothers, Hugh and Donald.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral by request. A graveside service will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor at a later date.
