With extreme sorrow, we report the passing of Lynda at Shorncliffe Hospice in Sechelt.
Lynda was born in Aldershot, England, the eldest daughter of Hilda and Gordon Coote.
Her siblings and their partners, Barbara and Terry, Susan and David, David and Tina, Marion and Ian, will dearly miss their big sister. As will her nieces, Laura, Tash, Emilia; nephews Luke, Thomas, James; grand-nephew Ben; step-grandsons Ben, Dan, Joey, Aidan; and her partner for many years, Mike Williamson, and his sons Shawn and Ian.
Lynda was active in the community of Gibsons working with the local library, the shíshálh First Nation, Gibsons Farmers’ Market, the Sea Cavalcade, Gibsons United Church, the local tai chi group and many animal rescue organizations. Lynda was trained in Tellington Touch, Healing Touch and Bach Rescue Remedies and used these to help troubled animals and their owners, especially with the Airedale rescue group.
Her business, Organization Plus, enabled her to help many local businesses and individuals. Lynda was an avid sailor who owned her own sailboat and sailed across the Pacific! She earned her Queen’s Guide Award and gave back to the community by becoming “Brown Owl.”
The family and friends extend their appreciation to the staff of Shorncliffe Hospice for their care and love for Lynda.
A celebration of Lynda’s life was held at Gibsons United Church on Thursday, the eighth of May. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Centre in Sechelt.
