(July 16, 1929- May 08, 2014) - Passed away after a brief illness at St. Clare's Hospital in the presence of her loving family on May 08, 2014, Catherine Patricia Spurrell (nee Minnett) age 84 years of Shea Heights. Predeceased by her husband Herbert (2013); parents Joseph (1894-1951) and Annie (nee Wyatt) (1899-1983); brothers Joseph (1997), Patrick (2000) (Mary 2014), also brothers ranging in age from 6 days to 20 months: Edward (1920), William (1922), Walter (1923), John (1925), James (1932), and Michael (1935); sisters: Mary Woolridge (1987)(Bill), Elizabeth Lane (2003); sister-in-law Bertha Wickham (Francis, deceased); brothers-in-law: Sam Spurrell, Gordon Parsons (Sue, deceased). Leaving to mourn her sons: Michael (Cecilia), Herbert (Linda), and Patrick (Marie); daughter Elizabeth Burton and Wayne Burton; grandchildren: Ashley, Michael, James, Jason, Kelly, Paddy (Sherry), Stephanie, Verna, great grandchildren: Devin, and Christopher; sisters-in-law Dorothy Minnett, Florence Saunders (Jack, deceased), and Bride Spurrell. A special thanks to Stella Crane for the care and being a friend to mother for the last three years and to the staff of 7 East at St Clare's. We are forever grateful. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday and Sunday May 10 and May 11 from 1pm-9pm. Funeral Mass at St. John's Bosco Church, Shea Heights on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 10:00am with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
