Sadie Nixon

NIXON, SADIE - At the Charlotte County Hospital, on Friday, May 9th, 2014, Sarah “Sadie” Millicent (Cook) Nixon, wife of the late Charles Nixon of Dufferin, NB. Born in England she is the daughter of the late Liscomb H. and Olive (Webb) Cook. Sadie was a longtime member of Kirk McColl United Church, serving in many capacities. She worked at Ganongs, the stamp office and cotton mill among many others, like Paul Hanson’s Greenhouse in Milltown. Sadie was still bowling up to recently, part of the “Dancing Grandma’s”. Sadie is survived by two sons Millen (Laura) of Ledge Rd, Larry (Nancy) of Valley Rd and one daughter Betty (Maurice) LaKing of Milltown, three grandchildren Shawn Nixon, Heidi Nixon and Jay LaKing, three great-grandchildren, Millen and Aiden Nixon and Nora LaKing, several nieces nephews and cousins. Sadie was predeceased by a sister Jean Sheilds.
Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB E3L 2B2 (506-466-3110) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 at 11:00 am. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception centre followed by the interment at Rollingdam United Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home during a time of visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or Kirk McColl United Church would be appreciated by the family.
