David Valentine

Valentine, David – 83, Truro, Nova Scotia passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in England he was the son of the late Wolf Volusky and Rose Felt of London, England. David immigrated to Canada by way of the Royal British Air Force and had a long and fulfilling career in the Canadian Air Force as a Military Policeman. He and his wife, (the late Carole Carlene Boyd), traveled to numerous military bases across the country and overseas. In 1974 he and Carole retired from the military and opened their business in Truro, Valentine’s Lock and Key, where they worked for 26 years until they both retired in 1997. After retiring David lived a full and active life and was very involved in the community including Crime Stoppers and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. David had always enjoyed sports of any kind and won many trophies and medals in curling, soccer and later in life was very active in the Truro Lawn Bowling Community. David is survived by his daughters, Katrina Valentine, Spokane, Washington and Kelly Valentine, Dartmouth, N.S. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16th from 1-2 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute, Br. 26 service at 2 p.m. and a memorial service following at 2:20 p.m., all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
