
Ada Fudge
FUDGE, ADA MARY (nee MILLS) - December 27, 1914 - May 6, 2014 - It is with sadness we announce the passing of Ada Fudge in her 100th year on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville. New Brunswick with her family by her side. Born in Maccan. N.S, December 27, 1914, to Calvin and Rebecca (Ripley) Mills, she lived in Moncton. N.B. for most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon; her son Stephen; her brothers, James, Wallace and Roger. She is survived by sons Edward (Barbara), John (Lynne) and daughter-in-law, Susan Wood; grandchildren Bruce (Louisa), Marnie (Thierry), Christopher (Lori), Nicholas (Lydia), David (Tim), James (Emma), Aiden, and great grandchildren; Spencer, Calvin, Henry, Caden, Ethan, Kai and many nieces and nephews. Ada was a devoted mother and homemaker. In her younger years she was an accomplished tinter at Reid’s Photography Studio (in the time before coloured film). She had many interests including playing bridge, curling, gardening, cooking and reading. She especially enjoyed her summers with family and friends at the family cottage at Rayworth Beach and then Parlee Beach. She was a member of the Moncton Central United Church, the IODE and involved with various charitable ventures on their behalf. The family is particularly grateful to the staff at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville for the kind, compassionate care they provided to Ada over the past four years.
A memorial service will be held at the Fair Haven Funeral Home on July 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, donations in Ada’s memory can be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Drew-Tantramar Foundation (Drew Nursing Home) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
